GORDON DEVRIES MEMORIAL

GORDON DEVRIES MEMORIAL

It is with profound sadness that we bid farewell to a long time employee and friend Gord de Vries.

As I often say, " Gord came with the building ". When Keith Kendel and I established Paragon Sales Ltd. in August of 1981, Gord became an original member of our staff.

Fast forward 40 years...

Over the course of time, Gord displayed a stellar work ethic, keeping up with evolving technology and was an outstanding Automotive Technician in every respect. He displayed a level of loyalty to our company that Karen and I will always remember and appreciate.

In March of 2019 he returned to work after having surgery for carpal tunnel on both wrists. I was accustomed to seeing his usual level of productivity, but it may have been his best month ever. Shortly thereafter it became obvious that Gord had a major battle to deal with. He faced it with a resolve to beat it, showing courage and optimism.

When the reality became clear that, in the last couple of months, the end of Gords life on earth was drawing near, I told him during one of my visits to the house that Karen and I will be developing a scholarship in his memory.

I am thankful to have been able to visit Gord the day before he passed away. When I left I knew it was the last time we would have the opportunity.

One of Gords frequent sayings was " All bullshit aside ".

" All bullshit aside ", we will sincerely miss you as a pivotal member of our staff from day one, both as an employee and friend.

Our sincere sympathy goes out to Sandra, Tara, Ryan, Nicole and families along with the rest of Gords immediate and extended family. We hope all of you can take comfort in knowing that his suffering is over. May he rest in peace.

Warren and Karen Schappert, family and staff at Paragon Sales Ltd.
